Providence train station (PVD: Amtrak and commuter rail) is a 10 minute walk (.4 mile) which I've walked multiple times when the hotel was still called the Biltmore. And of course there are taxis right at the train station as well.
It's on the Amtrak Northeast Corridor route (Boston to DC) so there are plenty of Amtrak as well as once or twice hourly commuter trains with connections from Boston South Station after taking the SL1 Silver Line express bus from Logan to South Station.

The Providence train station is served by Amtrak and the Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority (MBTA), which provides service between Boston and Providence. The station is a short walk or taxi ride to campus. Multiple ride-hailing services also operate in the city.
