Logistics

Good afternoon all,

Here is the final round of information for the Winter 2001 CSG Workshops
and Meeting to be held January 9th through 12th, 2001 at Duke University
in Durham, NC.  Note the meeting will start a day earlier for those wishing
to attend the Steltor (nee CorporateTime) vendor discussion recently added
to the agenda.

Conference Hotel:
The hotel is The Washington Duke Inn and Golf Club.  They can be reached
at 1.800.443.3853 or at http://www.washingtondukeinn.com/ on the web.

They have reserved a block of 50 rooms for us for Tuesday, Wednesday
and Thursday nights.    PLEASE HAVE YOUR RESERVATION IN BY THE
CUTOFF DATE OF December 19, 2000.  The rooms are at the discount
rate of $127 per night for single occupancy or $142 per night for
double occupancy.  Check-in time is 3pm; check-out time is 12 noon. 
The hotel has arranged to extend the special rate for Friday and 
Saturday on a first-come, first-served basis depending on room 
availability at the time of booking. 

Guest rooms reserved for the Common Solutions Group will be held until
December 19, 2000.  Any reservations not booked by this date will be on a
first-come, first-served basis at the best available rate.

Rooms are available at the CSG rate for those wishing to arrive Monday
for the Tuesday Steltor session; however, the rooms are available on
a first-come, first-served basis only.

Nearest Airport:
Raleigh-Durham is approximately 20 miles from Durham.

Airport Transportation:
The hotel will arrange transportation from the airport.  The cost is 
$35 one-way.  You will need to contact Jim Redmond at 919.313.2183 and
give him your flight number; he will have the shuttle pick you up.
He can arrange to have the fare charged to your hotel room if you wish.
Cab fare from the airport is approximately $25 to $30 one-way.

Driving directions from airport to hotel:
Follow I-40 West to exit 279B, Durham Freeway (Route 147) North towards
Durham.  Follow 147 N for 11.3 miles to exit 16B (15/501 South CHAPEL
HILL).  Exit onto 16B and Drive approximately 1 mile to exit # 107
(Duke University West Campus and Hospitals).  At the traffic light at
the end of the exit turn LEFT onto Cameron Blvd.  Go to the 3rd traffic
light which is Science Drive.  Turn RIGHT at Science Drive into the
Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club.

CAUTION: PLEASE DO NOT EXIT DURHAM FREEWAY AT OTHER EXITS THAT SAY 
15/501 BUSINESS, DUKE MED CENTERS, ETC. CONTINUE ALL THE WAY TO EXIT 
16B.

Conference Venue:
The CSG Workshops and Meeting will be held in the Glaxo Wellcome room
at the R. David Thomas Executive Conference Center on the campus of
Duke University (http://www.harrisondurham.com/harrisondurham/home.cfm>).
Messages for attendees may be left at 919.660.6400.

Wireless networking will be available in the meeting room; wired network
access will be provided in adjoining breakout rooms T257 and T258.

walking distance between the hotel and Thomas Center is less than a
quarter mile.  Parking is available at the Thomas Center as shown on
the map; you will need to stop in at the Center to pick up a (free)
parking permit.

Conference Meals:
A group dinner hosted by Steltor will be provided on Tuesday.
Group lunches and dinners will be provided on Wednesday and Thursday.
Box lunches will be provided at the close of the CSG meeting on Friday.
Continental breakfast will be provided Wednesday through Friday.
I will be sending another reservation form for the sessions and meals
out soon.

Transportation:
Circulating limousine service will be provided between the hotel and the 
Thomas Center on Tuesday through Friday, and between the hotel and
group dinner venues.  Three ten-passenger limousines will be circulating
at all times.  See the meeting agenda for the schedule.
